A minimally invasive option
to treat Pulmonary Embolism (PE)
The FlowTriever
®

System
Pulmonary Embolism (PE) is a critical cardiac condition caused by blood clots blocking lung arteries. The FlowTriever system is an FDA-cleared therapy designed for the minimally invasive removal of large clots in a single session.

UNDERSTAND YOUR OPTIONS
How is the FlowTriever procedure
different from other PE treatment options?
Minimally Invasive
Procedure performed through a small incision in the skin, without the need for invasive surgery or stents.
No Need for Thrombolytic Drugs
Procedure does not require thrombolytic drugs (clot-busters) associated with bleeding risks.
Quick Recovery
Many patients go home shortly after the procedure & remain on anticoagulation (AC) during and after recovery.
PROCEDURE OVERVIEW
The procedure begins with a small incision made most commonly in the leg. A sheath (a short hollow tube) is then inserted into the vein allowing the delivery of wires and catheters that will be used to navigate and reach the clot burden.

A catheter (a long thin tube) is guided into the vessel to the location of the clot, where the physician uses suction to remove the clot. Most patients are under mild sedation during the procedure.

The procedure typically lasts one to two hours, and patients often feel immediate symptom relief during the procedure.
